ARE YOU PROFITABLE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD

God created man with purpose; therefore, in the kingdom of God, you have something to offer. Ephesians 4:16 reveals that we are one body, fitly joined together, and each part, in its own special way, helps the other parts. Simply put, “We need each other.”

When we acknowledge that what we possess comes from God, then prayerfully we will accept what he has placed within us and move forward. For those who struggle because they did not acquire more, take heart in the Scripture that God distributes to us according to what we are capable of handling.

God gives us what He wants us to have, and sometimes one individual has many abilities while others have fewer. No matter what you have received, God expects you to use all that He has given you. Jesus shares this principle in the parable of the talents. Three individuals were given different amounts of talents. The two who received the most talents were productive, rewarded, and promoted for their efforts. The individual who received the least hid what he was given out of fear, and he was condemned for doing nothing.   

Another issue is that sometimes people are jealous of the abilities displayed by others, and we must remember that people’s abilities are God-given. When jealousy, which can lead to animosity, happens, God is not pleased; this is seen in Numbers 12, when Moses’s siblings Aaron and Miriam became jealous over his leadership.

If all of us could focus on ourselves, be content with what God has placed within us, and use what we have received to the fullest, we would all be profitable in the kingdom of God, and we would collectively impact the world.
