BLOG OF THANKSGIVING
Last week I celebrated my seventy-ninth birthday, and therefore this week I am writing a blog of thanksgiving to God.
I thank Him for drawing me to him at a young age through my mom’s teachings. So, at age 10, I accepted Jesus as my Savior, was baptized, and at age 11, I received the gift of the Holy Spirit. I thank God I established a relationship with Him from which I have never strayed. Down through the years, I’ve experienced hills and valleys, and in each I’ve been kept securely by the love, mercy, and care of God.
I got married at age twenty, and God has assisted me in keeping the words I stated on September 2, 1967, “For better or worse and in sickness and health to death do we part,” Death has not parted us so I’ve remained married for these past fifty-eight years and I can truly say, “The Lord has helped us.”
God enabled me to birth two children, a male and a female, who, I am delighted to say, are children of God. My son is married, and he and his wife have three grown children who love and serve God. My grandson got married last year, and he and his wife are also involved in ministry at their church. My family lineage is filled with individuals who are ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I am grateful to God that my immediate family continues carrying on our godly heritage.
I have earned four degrees, and God touched the hearts of individuals who assisted me financially with my education. Furthermore, I continue to expand my knowledge with God’s help through certificate courses and online masterclasses.
During my lifetime, I have had four major surgeries and four minor surgeries, and all ended successfully. Down through the years, friends of mine, older and younger, have died, but I am yet alive for God has been my Healer.
Today, I have only shared a brief synopsis of the things for which I am thankful, but I know that each breath I breathe can be a moment of thanksgiving to my great God, who allowed me to live and have this testimony.
