AGREE WITH GOD’S WORD

October 4, 2025

Do you have a prayer request before God that has yet to be answered, and you are wondering what the delay is? Well, one possible reason is that your request may not align with His Word.

In 2 Corinthians 1:20, Paul told the church of Corinth, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us (KJV), and the same verse in the Message bible reads. “Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident.” Also, these Words that God said to Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:12 can also apply to us, “Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” These verses led me to believe that to help experience a positive outcome of our prayers, we should search the scriptures to see what God has said and then pray the Word.

Yes, in our lives, there are sometimes delays, and this may be because our faith in God is being tested or the fruit of long patience is being developed. It is key to remember that during this time, our actions matter. Are we having a pity party instead of praising and thanking God for the answer being manifested, for He cannot deny Himself? If His Word says it, we must believe wholeheartedly that He will bring it to pass.

I recall a statement by Charles Capp in his book, “Why Tragedy Happens to Christians,” which reads, “The enemy has deceived Christians into confessing their fears rather than their faith.” And in that book, he also encouraged Christians to pray the answer instead of the problem. This takes work, but the positive outcome of our actions is what we prayed for comes to fruition. Therefore, we must approach things differently: search the scriptures and then pray the appropriate Word, knowing that all things are working together for our good because we have aligned ourselves with the Word of God, which does not fail.

For those of you who may be struggling with searching the Word, I suggest that you ask Google for scriptures pertaining to your situation or purchase books on the promises of God. You will find both sources rewarding, and I recommend them because I use them. God richly bless you as you agree with His Word.
