PRAYING BEYOND AMERICA

April 12, 2025

Over the years, I have used the Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Guide, A Watchman’s Guide to Praying God’s Promises, and the Global Prayer Strategy to assist me in praying for nations beyond America.
Covering all the nations in the world in a month, A Watchman’s Guide to Praying God’s Promises, and the Global Prayer Strategy provides a daily group list of nations for which to pray.
Rather than cover all nations in the world, the Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Guide lists only the nations that fall into one of three categories: restricted, hostile, or monitored. It is these nations that I will share in this blog because Christians residing in these nations need extra prayer coverage.
The restricted nations are where Christians are killed, imprisoned, or badgered due to anti-Christian laws and governmental sanctions. In these nations, Christain’s personal liberties can be hindered and possessions confiscated due to their belief. The restricted nations are Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, China, Cuba, Egypt, Eritrea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudia Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Western Sahara, and Yemen.
The hostile nations are where family, neighbors, and friends often persecute Christians despite the government’s attempt to provide protection for them. The hostile nations are listed as Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colombia, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lebanon, Malawi, Mali, Mexico, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The monitored nations are nations that are being monitored due to the increased persecution happening in the country. The monitored nations are Russia, Burundi, Chad, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Venezuela.
Unlike America, where we have the right to practice our religious beliefs without fear, evangelize, own a bible, and openly attend church service, the Christians in all three of the categories have difficulty in doing the same as us. Additionally, many of them have fled from their homeland and are living in areas where they are in need of all kinds of support.
You may not be able to support people in these nations financially, but the one thing we can all do is pray. Pray for the countries to allow their citizens religious freedom. Pray for the leadership in these nations to come to know and love God with all of their heart. Pray for freedom to evangelize the lost. Pray for Bibles and resources distribution to aid the people in learning about God and His will for their lives. Pray that the forces of Satan will be broken. Pray for the imprisoned Christians. Pray for the family members of those who have been victimized. Pray that signs and wonders will be powerfully manifested in these nations and that it will cause the unbelievers to become believers. Pray that families will be reunited, and pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you in your prayer for all of the nations.
